The most tipical food in Spain: Paella!!

If you have thought in Spain anytime in your life, you could remember three or four things: Bullfighters, Real Madrid FC (my favorite soccer team), FC Barcelona, and paella. In this post I am going to explain how to cook a delicious dish, you can make by yourself to impress a friend, your boyfriend or just enjoy a great time in the kitchen. Even though it´s not easy to make it, you can delight yourself with several flavours in the mouth. The most important thing is the raw material, it should be fresh to have a good result at the end.

1) Ingredients ( For 4 diners):

     - Chicken 700 grs ( 8 or 10 pieces).
     - Rabbit 300 grs (4 or 6 pieces) Maybe in your countries it could be difficult to find, you can use ribs instead of rabbit.
     - Seafood ( the most used is crayfish, but we also used mussels, and shrimps)
     - One big spoon of paprika (better not spicy).
     - A few stands of saffron.
     - Half garlic.
     - One onion, one red pepper and one green pepper.
     - Two smashed tomatoes.
     - Salt.
     - Olive oil ( 15 ml).
     - Water.
     - Rice ( 350 gr).

2) How to make it?:

    - Fist of all you need to peel the seafood, and put all the shells in a bowl with salt and water(more or less 1 litre), and start to cook around 1 hour, for a powerful flavour. Keep separate for later.
   - The second step is to fried in a big pan, all the meat with salt and olive oil. Until start to get brown. Add the pepper, the onions (previously cut to) the pan.
   - When the pepper starts to get soft, add the smashed tomatoes, the garlic(previously cut) and paprika to the bowl.
   - Add the rice and the seafood and stir the pan.
   - Finally add the saffron and the seafood broth (previously cast to separate the shells).
   - Cook for 20 minutes, and add more water or salt if it´s necessary.

If everything has gone well you will have a dish like the picture.... Good luck and enjoy!!!

  5. That looks amazing! I wonder if there's a good place to get it in Calgary? It probably wouldn't be the same here because we don't have really fresh seafood.
